The SIM theory test, in short

How many questions are in the SIM theory test?

The app's mock test has 30 questions, 15 minutes, and you pass with 21 correct. That format is the app's estimate: the regulation, Perpol 5/2021, fixes only the 70% pass mark, and the examination itself may differ. The app says so on its Exam rules screen.

Which SIM classes does it cover?

SIM A (car) and SIM C (motorcycle) — the two classes for which practice modules are published. SIM A has a pool of 655 questions and SIM C 666; 141 questions serve both.

Where do the questions come from?

From three published police collections: Korlantas POLRI's Buku Panduan Latihan Ujian Teori SIM (2023), Ditlantas Polda Jawa Timur's Kumpulan Soal-Soal Ujian Teori SIM (2022) and a Satlantas Polres Berau / Kutai Kartanegara set (2018), plus 316 Korlantas exam video clips. The Korlantas book gives questions and model answers but no answer options, so the options on those questions were written for the app from the book's model answers and reviewed.

Does it have the video questions?

Yes: 318 questions play one of 316 exam video clips. A clip downloads when a question needs it and is saved after the first play, so video questions need internet the first time.

Can I practise in English?

Not yet. The questions are in Bahasa Indonesia only; the app's menus can be switched to English. An Indonesian–English bank is third on the roadmap, with no date yet.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is free and supported by ads, with no in-app purchases. There is no account: your progress stays on your device.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once the question pack (about 38 MB) is downloaded. Video clips download as you play them — about 381.5 MB if you play every clip.

The three collections hold 1,335 source rows. The app ships 1,180 questions: a SIM A pool of 655 and a SIM C pool of 666, with 141 identical questions kept once and serving both classes. The Korlantas book has no answer options: those were written for the app from the book's model answers and reviewed.
