Thailand's driving theory test: format, pass mark and categories
What the written test looks like, what it covers, which language you can sit it in — and how the Driving Test app mirrors it. Every figure below is stated with its source.

The test at a glance
Thailand's theory test has 50 questions. You pass with 45 correct answers (90%) and have 60 minutes. This is the format the Department of Land Transport (DLT) publishes on its own page; websites that say 50 minutes are out of step with it.

Car and motorcycle: one format
Car and motorcycle candidates sit the same format, and DLT's practice bank does not split its questions by licence class. The app asks for your class and leaves out the questions that only concern the other: the car pool has 753 questions and the motorcycle pool 660; 654 serve both. That split is the app's own editorial choice, not DLT's.

263 questions carry a picture, and 6 have pictures as their answer options.
Language
The test can be sat in Thai or in English nationwide. The app's questions come in both: the Thai text and our own English translation of it — choose the question language in Settings. Words inside the pictures stay in Thai. The menus come in six languages.
Where the practice questions come from
The bank starts from every question of DLT's own practice bank at safedrivedlt.com — the site is run by DLT's Land Transport Safety Bureau — and adds 433 questions from other Thai practice material. Exact duplicates were merged, and questions found out of date on review were corrected. The bank has no explanations, so the app shows none.
These are practice questions. Neither the app nor this site claims that they are the questions of the live examination.
Practising with the app
Exam draws a fresh paper of 50 questions for your class under the test's rules: the 60-minute clock, the 45-correct pass mark and answers revealed at the end. Practice by topic works through the 11 categories with a mastery bar for each.
